Prepare your lawn for the harsh summer with a fertilizer application, insect control and a broad leaf weed spray to kill any unwanted weeds that may have appeared.
Throughout the spring, we have applied the necessary chemicals to have a strong and healthily lawn. By applying a low-nitrogen organic blend fertilizer in the early summer, the turf will be less susceptible to heat stress and drought of the summer. These fertilizers typically work by activating existing nutrients in the soil and they help the soil retain moisture to prevent topsoil erosion and heat stress.
Broadleaf Weed Control
The broadleaf weed control application is applied in a liquid form to ensure the weeds absorb the chemical and die. Some companies use a granular weed control which is ineffective and if the weather conditions are not correct the weeds will not absorb the chemical properly. Using a liquid selective herbicide we are able to target and destroy a broad spectrum of weeds with amazing results. The chemicals are absorbed from the foliage and root systems of the weeds and move throughout the plant shutting down the plants and killing them.
Grub Control
Grub control applications also start with our spring lawn care. Grubs are beetle larvae from a variety of different beetle species that begin their life cycle in July when beetles typically lay their eggs. The larvae hatch within 2 to 4 weeks and begin feeding on the lawn’s root system immediately upon hatching. Because the damage they cause is below the surface, effects from their damage typically do not show until later in the season after the harm has been done.
Grub damage appears on the surface as dead and browning grass that can be easily peeled away because it has been severed from the roots. Grass that has been damaged by grubs usually does not recover and must be removed for the areas to be reseeded for new grass. It is wise to start applying grub control before the summer hits to prevent grubs from hatching and maturing in your lawn’s root system. If you wait for signs of grub damage before taking action, it will already be too late.
